Powerful, clean and efficient in use
Whether for cutting stone, asphalt or metal; hand-held or cart-mounted operation - the new STIHL TS 800 re-defines the standards for cut-off saws with a 400 millimetre cutting wheel. An innovative two-stroke engine with stratified scavenging gives this latest development by the world's market leader, outstanding power and exemplary performance whilst firmly meeting future environmental standards. The long-life air filter system with cyclone pre filtration ensures extremely long intervals between cleaning or changing, and a comprehensive list of standard equipment plus low weight, low vibrations and ergonomic design ensure even the toughest jobs can be handled comfortably, efficiently and economically - all important benefits for hard-working professionals.
Even as the STIHL TS 700 (which has since won the coveted red dot design award 2005) was launched last year, STIHL announced that a further new cut-off saw for cutting wheels with a 400mm diameter would follow. And here it is: the new STIHL, TS 800 - available now.
Innovative technology, exemplary power, easy handling and immense flexibility make the new STIHL TS 800 the ideal machine for a whole variety of cutting jobs in civil engineering, construction and road building. Equipped and designed to optimize workflows and operating costs, the STIHL TS 800 can also score points when used in landscape maintenance, by local authority maintenance teams, fire departments and emergency services, as well as equipment hire firms. And if the trend set by the TS 700 is any guide, it will also become a valid alternative to the conventional floor saw.
Power, service life and environmental protection meeting future needs
Delivering an impressive 5kW power and with a maximum torque of 5.8 Nm - 13.5 Nm at the cutting wheel - the new STIHL TS 800 meets the most stringent demands for cutting asphalt, concrete, pre-cast concrete parts, steel girders, reinforcement bars and pipeline construction.
The two-stroke engine with stratified scavenging considerably reduces the inevitable scavenging losses associated with two-stroke engines - when unburned fuel-and-air mixture escapes into the environment together with the exhaust gas. Not only is fuel consumption reduced as a result, the exhaust gas contains significantly fewer pollutants - even the stringent requirements of future exhaust standards (EU II) are clearly undershot.
The innovative long-life air filter system with cyclone pre-filtration adds a significant contribution to increasing the machine's service life and cost-efficiency. Around 80 percent of the particles contained in the intake air are eliminated in the very first stage and returned to the atmosphere. The extends the duty period between filter changes several times over when compared to conventional systems.
Easy Handling- with and without cart
Thanks to its compact size and weight of just 12.7 kilograms - very low for a cut-off machine of this power class - the STIHL TS 800 can be used either hand-held or cart-mounted. The wrap-around handle, designed according to the latest ergonomic findings, making cutting extremely comfortable and easy in all positions while at the same time ensuring good control over the cut-off machine. As with all new and future STIHL developments, vibrations issues are conquered in the STIHL TS 800. The STIHL anti-vibration system reduces vibrations most effectively, with the result that the ceilings imposed by the Physical Agents (Vibration) Directive are distinctly undershot. The STIHL TS 800 can also be operated on the smart STIHL FW 20 cart, for cutting longer stretches and when a precise line or cutting depth is required. In addition to its quick clamping system which allows the cut-off saw to be mounted quickly and easily without the need for tools, the cart is also equipped with a convenient depth setting function; the cutting depth can be set simply from a control on the upper handle frame.
The new STIHL TS 800 is supplied with water connection and a 400m composite cutting wheel as standard. High-grade diamond cutting wheel are also available as accessories and the complete cut-off saw is available from STIHL servicing dealers nationwide nationwide.
