The UK’s leading timber and panel products distributor, James Latham, is expanding its Leicester depot by 8500 ft2 as of May 1st due to the departure of Nevill Long from the Wigston site.

The large area will be used to store further stock to ensure that an increased range of products will be available to customers. Timber stocks are to include PEFC accredited Finnish Unsorted Redwood Joinery, Kiln Dried, in a range of depths from 25mm to 100mm and WISA + P, GS, CF which is supplied in sizes suitable for the production of windows and doors. The Wisa is centre free (CF), which results in the reduction of problems with pith and shakes, and improves production costs.

The extra space will also accommodate a larger range of ‘Clears’ with the introduction of Western Red Cedar and Douglas Fir to compliment the pre-stocked Southern Yellow Pine. Where possible, the two varieties are purchased with CSA accreditation.

Paul Seaton, previously the Sales Representative at Wigston, is to manage and promote the additional products. He commented: “The extra space at Wigston is great for both staff and customers. It means that we can widen our stock range and amounts – resulting in a busier and more knowledgeable depot. We feel that the Joinery Redwoods and ‘Clears’ compliment our existing range of sheet materials, flooring and hardwoods. Ultimately, we can now provide a one stop shop for our customers.”
