SIKA EXTENDS ANCHORFIX RANGE
Sika Limited
27/05/2008
Sika AnchorFix-1 is a polyester resin chemical injection anchoring adhesive. Fast curing, reliable and with a high load capacity, Sika AnchorFix-1 can support a wide range of heavy items including CCTV cameras, external lighting and load bearing shelves.
Sika AnchorFix-1 is easy to apply using a 300ml cartridge gun. A hole is drilled, cleaned and then injected with AnchorFix-1. The strong resin is only produced when the two component chemicals are mixed within the two-part nozzle. This method ensures only the required amount is used giving minimal wastage.
The item to be anchored is then inserted with a twisting motion before the resin starts to cure and the item becomes securely fixed. A chemical anchoring adhesive has real performance benefits over traditional mechanical methods. Only four sides are secured with mechanically expanding bolts whereas with Sika AnchorFix-1 - the entire surface area within the hole is bonded, evenly distributing the weight for a super strong bond.
Sika AnchorFix-1 is suitable for installing threaded rods, masonry wall ties, bolts and special fastening systems into solid substrates such as concrete, solid masonry or breeze blocks and brickwork.
Newly available in 150ml as well as the 300ml size, Sika AnchorFix-1 can be used for both internal and external applications for light to medium loads.
Sika AnchorFix-2 is a high performance fast curing epoxy based also available for medium to high loads in 300ml cartridges. Tested and approved by the ETA it also carries the CE mark. It is suitable for really demanding structural applications including fixing reinforcing bars and threaded bolts.
