Leading manufacturer of tile adhesives, grouts and finishing products enjoys considerable success at key merchants exhibition.

Dunlop Adhesives recently enjoyed a highly successful appearance at the prestigious Construct Ambient Expo trade show held at the ROMEXPO Exhibition Centre in Bucharest. The annual event draws a whole range of exhibitors from a diverse range of countries and sectors including joinery, interior design and building and attracts thousands of tradesmen including scores of builder’s merchants.

Building on the huge success the leading tile adhesive manufacturer has experienced in Eastern Europe since opening an office and dedicated warehousing facility in Bucharest, Dunlop Adhesives used the exhibition to showcase some its newest and most innovative products.

The first product to be demonstrated was Standard Set Plus. This floor and wall tile adhesive accommodates the increasing popularity of large format wall tiles (over 300mm x 300mm) and tiles made from porcelain and natural stone. As well as offering exceptional bond strength, it allows up to 30 minutes for tiles to be adjusted or repositioned – a far longer working time than other alternatives.

In addition, the manufacturer demonstrated the benefits of using its anti-mould range. Consisting of grouts and sealants, these products employ Microban? - one of the world’s most effective anti-bacterial agents. This makes them ideal for use in kitchens or in bathrooms where warm, humid conditions can often lead to the growth of fungi and mould.

The company also focussed on the rebrand of its product offering, in which a unique concept in packaging design known as the ‘reverse traffic light’ system was used to make the whole selection process completely effortless. All products are colour coded in relation to their purpose, with preparation products colour coded green for ‘go’ and finishing products coloured red for ‘stop’ or finish. In addition, end-users can easily identify which Dunlop products are suitable for which application, thanks to simple and understandable icons on the front of the packaging.

Plus to further demonstrate its commitment to the Eastern European market Dunlop Adhesives discussed the unique support packages it offers merchants. This includes striking Point-of-Sale materials, specialist training courses and even technical support videos viewable in-store, online and on WAP enabled mobile phones.

Speaking of the company’s appearance at the show, Florin Actrinei, Director General of Dunlop Adhesives in Romania commented: “Since opening our new facility in Bucharest in 2006, sales in Eastern Europe have more than doubled in the second year of activity in the region, so the Construct Ambient Expo exhibition was an ideal event for us to get involved in. It gave us the opportunity to reach out to even more merchants and ensure the Dunlop Adhesives brand becomes as visible and well known in Eastern Europe as it is in the UK.

He added: “The event was a great success – merchants enjoyed learning about the strong partnership approach we offer as well as our innovative products and support packages. It also proved extremely useful for us as we were able to find out more about what issues and challenges stockists are currently facing and discuss ways in which we can offer them even more support.”
