Resin Surfaces Limited, the specialist resin manufacturer, has supplied its high specification flooring products for use at the production site of historic British bike manufacturer Triumph Motorcycles. The shop floor of the cam shaft production line was resurfaced using Resin Surfaces’ highly durable Resuthane floor screed range.

Resin Surfaces’ polyurethane floor products are ideal for application in automotive workshops, due to the hard seamless surface they provide, and the ease with which oil spillages can be cleaned. In this installation, contractor Central Flooring used a flooring system including Resuthane SL23, Resuprime and Resujoint P at Triumph’s Hinckley plant.

Triumph Motorcycles is a name synonymous with British engineering, with a rich history of producing high quality motorcycles, which continues to this day, producing motorcycles such as the iconic Triumph Bonneville, the mould-breaking Daytona 675 and 2.3 litre Rocket III.

The 300m sq m installation was completed in one week by Central Flooring, as key benefits are its installation time and quick return to service. This allowed Triumph to re-open its cam shaft line for production with minimal downtime. The long term benefits this flooring solution will offer Triumph includes resistance to thermal shock, abrasion and chemical attacks in aggressive industrial environments, a slip resistant surface, and a hard wearing finish, unlikely to crack.

Richard Jinks, project manager for Central Flooring comments: “As a contractor, we are always keen to source and use products that make our jobs easier, without compromising the quality of the completed installation. RSL’s products tick all of the boxes, as they are quick and easy to install, produce excellent finishes, and have the durability to withstand years of activity in a busy production environment.”

Jeremy Waterhouse, Sales and Marketing Director at Resin Surfaces adds: “Our range of products are very popular and often recommended for use in automotive and heavy industrial locations. By liaising with Central Flooring and the client, Triumph, experts at RSL were quickly able to specify products that would meet all requirements of the project, so that production at the site could quickly resume.”
