France has a long tradition of beautiful hardwood floors - seen everywhere from historic chateaux to chic contemporary apartments. The French hardwood flooring specialist Parqueterie Berrichonne is a leading name in Continental Europe and it is now available in the UK too.

The newest floor from Parqueterie Berrichonne, Vauban is a beautifully distressed dark oak wideboard floor. It may look as if it has been reclaimed from a stately home, but underneath its elegantly antiqued surface is a high-tech `engineered' construction which makes it stable enough to use with underfloor heating and in kitchens and bathrooms.

Vauban is part of a complete collection of antique finish floors called Memoires, now offering six different tones of Oak, from a whitened finish to the rich almost black Vauban. Vauban costs from £67.30 per square metre and has a durable, easily maintained lacquer finish.

Note to editors: Parqueterie Berrichonne is part of the Margaritelli group which also owns Listone Giordano, one of the best known and most innovative flooring brands in Europe.
